BELIEVE, BELONG, ACHIEVE.
MY VISION
“A just future where everyone can believe in themselves, belong in an equitable and sustainable world, and achieve their dreams.”
Francesca Clapcich
WHO AM I?
It’s hard to describe myself, I’m lots of things. I’m a professional sailor, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a member of the LGBTQ+ community, an Italian, a citizen of the world, an Olympian, a ski instructor, a leader, a winner, an activist, and plenty more besides.
I am not just one thing alone, no one is, and I want to live in a world where I can be any of these things, whenever I want, wherever I am, and whatever I do.
But it is more than that …
WHAT DO I WANT?
© 11th Hour Racing
I want to be treated fairly and included fully; I want to share experiences with people from different backgrounds, and I want them to feel safe to be all the things they are, too.
If you’ve never had to change or hide who you truly are, if you’ve always been accepted as you are, you might not realize that not everyone has that privilege. This matters because when we force people to hide or deny parts of themselves, we stifle potential, creativity, and progress.
In a world grappling with deep societal divisions, environmental crises, and growing inequality, we can’t afford to leave anyone’s potential untapped.
We need to bridge divides and find common ground, not just for ourselves but for future generations. I’ve dedicated my life to becoming a successful professional sailor, and now I’m using my platform, my voice, and my sport to take on this challenge
I want us all to belong.
WHY DOES IT MATTER?

If you've never had to change or hide who you truly are, if you've always been accepted as you are, perhaps you're not aware that not everyone has that luxury and I feel the privilege of that.
You might wonder why it matters. It matters because when we limit people, when we deny parts of them, we lock out potential, creativity, and progress. And in a world facing unprecedented challenges - societal divisions, environmental crises, widening inequality - we need every ounce of everyone's potential to break down barriers and find solutions. We need to find common ground among people and with our planet, not just for ourselves, but for every generation to come.
“This is one challenge we must win, and I am here to win.
Come and join me.”
What am I going to do?
BELIEVE
I will use my platform and profile to show what’s possible, to give people a reason to believe that if they can see it, they can be it.
I will share regular content that educates about the importance of belonging and climate justice, offering suggestions and opportunities to tackle these issues contributing to engendering belonging and acting for a just transition.
BELONG
I will use my role as leader to build an exemplar team that creates opportunities, engenders belonging, and protects the environment.
I will share my experiences, include that of others, and drive innovation through collaboration to establish a high performing team that competes to win well – for the planet, for people, and for the prize.
ACHIEVE
I will educate, advocate, and drive collective action, to raise the issue of inequalities in sailing, sport, and society and seek legislative and regulatory changes that result in equal pay and a just transition for the climate.
I will share how we created our high performing exemplar team so that more people win well.
